Why choose Dore?

Since 1999 the Dore Programme has been tested in very many ways: by Dore itself; on many thousands of its pupils; by independent education authorities and by independent academic researchers.
It seems that whichever way you look at the Programme, it shows significant advantages over most other types of intervention to which it is compared.

For instance, in 2002-3, professors conducting a research programme into reading progress described their findings as ‘unprecedented’ when dyslexic pupils on the Dore Programme outperformed their normal learning peer group.

In another education study, ‘statemented’ groups (those most severely affected) showed remarkable improvement, allowing them to catch up with their normal peer group for the very first time.

Of course, Dore would never advocate their therapy to be used as an alternative to good teaching practices - both complement each other and go hand-in-hand in aiding recovery from poor literacy skills. However, we do see our Programme as a very powerful way of improving a person’s response to any number of different teaching methods being used.

We see the Dore Programme as ‘mending the hole in the bucket’ to stop the information inside being lost. But, you still need someone to fill bucket with information. That’s why we highly commend the efforts of educators, who work hard to help children and adults with learning difficulties. The Dore Programme supports teachers by giving those who struggle with learning difficulties the ability to learn and develop skills. This means they are able to absorb and take in more information and respond well to good teaching. So instead of the information and skills being lost, the brain retains them just like a bucket with the mended hole, keeps in the water.

During the essential processes of learning in general, and reading in particular, the Dore Programme will make life a whole lot easier for the child, parent and teacher or in the case of an adult, for themselves and their family.

Whether you are a parent, an educator or someone struggling with learning skills, we strongly recommend that you contact Dore as soon as possible to see how we can make a difference.
